An air of togetherness and moving forward filled the Bulengo camp on December 1, 2023, when Repro Justice Congo, along with PNLS and PNMLS, marked World AIDS Day. They set up a mobile clinic to offer HIV testing to more than 300 people from the displaced community and key groups.
Those who tested positive for HIV at the camp were quickly sent to specialized healthcare centers for thorough care and personalized treatment. The focus wasn't just on medical treatment but also on creating a supportive space for people to openly talk about their worries and get the emotional backing they needed.
Repro Justice Congo, working with PNLS and PNMLS, showed a comprehensive approach to HIV care, understanding the significance of addressing both the physical and emotional well-being of individuals. The aim was not only to fight HIV transmission but also to lessen the stigma surrounding the virus, advocating for a healthcare model that revolves around the community, empathy, and comprehension.
Moreover, Repro Justice Congo played a vital role in distributing more than 2000 condoms and lubricants to key groups, underlining the importance of prevention in controlling the spread of HIV.
