Gender Justice and Women’s Rights

Gender Justice and
Women’s Rights
Gender inequality shapes who has power, who makes decisions, who has access to opportunities and whose rights are respected. Women and girls in the DRC continue to experience gender-based violence, discrimination, harmful social norms and inequalities that restrict their bodily autonomy and participation in society. For Repro Justice Congo, achieving reproductive justice therefore requires confronting the broader systems of inequality that affect women’s lives.
Gender Justice and Women’s Rights
Preventing Violence
Repro Justice Congo works with women, girls and communities to prevent gender-based violence, support survivors and transform harmful gender and social norms.
Holistic Support
We connect survivors with medical, psychosocial and legal support while promoting approaches centred on their dignity, confidentiality and choices.
Community Leadership
At community level, we create spaces for dialogue, strengthen women’s leadership and support women and young people to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect their rights and lives.
Our Vision
Our vision is a society where women and girls can live free from violence and discrimination, exercise control over their bodies and futures, and participate equally in shaping their communities and institutions.
LEADERS & AGENTS OF CHANGE.
We believe women should be recognized not simply as beneficiaries of programmes or survivors of violence, but as rights holders, leaders and agents of change.
Bodily Autonomy
Freedom from violence
